-10 Autumn Activities for Tampa Bay Locals-

When it comes to choosing a favorite time of year, autumn ranks high on the list of many Tampa Bay locals. With the worst of rainy season behind us, Florida life during fall offers everything from waterfront tranquility to action-packed adventure.

During autumn, there are fewer crowds at beaches and other destinations. That’s because many tourists avoid travel during hurricane season, which does not officially end until Dec. 1. Generally, however, our autumn weather is quite beautiful for Tampa Bay locals. Temperatures can range from the upper 60s to low 80s across Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties.

Fun Things to Do Outdoors for Tampa Bay Local Homeowners

With the on-going pandemic, there have been restrictions and cancelations for some indoor events. To play it safe, we have compiled a fun list of outdoor activities for local homeowners:

  1. Sunbathe: Sounds simple – but remember this isn’t so easy to do up north during fall. Grab a chair or blanket and head outside to your Tampa backyard or one of Pinellas County’s beaches for some fun in the sun. This is a free, no-cost way to live the ultimate Florida life.
  2. Swim: Many of our customers have found their Florida dream home with a pool, where they can swim laps or simply float. If you do not have a pool, consider the Gulf of Mexico, local lakes, or countless other waterways for enjoying water activities, such as paddle boarding.
  3. Run: Enjoy an invigorating run along Bayshore Boulevard, our scenic sidewalk stretching 4.5 miles along Hillsborough Bay in Tampa. For a peaceful jog, explore the tree-lined streets of our Carrollwood suburbs or the new developments in Riverview or Wesley Chapel.
  4. Play: There is no shortage of local parks for homeowners to enjoy across the Tampa Bay area. Consider doing yoga, playing catch, or having a picnic at John Wilson Park Gazebo in Safety Harbor, Wesley Chapel District Park, or Al Lopez Park in Tampa.
  5. Bike: Ride your bike along the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail stretching from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. You could pedal your way through Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Clearwater, Largo, Seminole, South Pasadena, and Gulfport.
  6. Golf: Fewer tourists makes fall a great time of year for golf outings. Our area boasts beautiful golf courses in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. If you would like to golf more often, ask our real estate team about homes available in golf communities.
  7. Sail: Florida’s waterways are also less crowded during the off-season, making fall a great time to take out your boat. If you do not have a boat, consider a water taxi, dolphin tour, or fishing charter to get out on the waterways around the Greater Tampa Bay area.
  8. Sightsee: With natural attractions at every turn, Florida is a fantastic place for outdoor sightseeing. Enjoy the views from the pier at Ballast Point in South Tampa, or you may consider going to John’s Pass Village to stroll the boardwalk and watch for dolphins.
  9. Dine Alfresco: Enjoy a local spot with outdoor seating for lunch, dinner, or drinks this fall. Fewer tourists mean shorter wait-times plus freedom for safely noshing in patio areas at districts like Sparkman Wharf in Channelside or near the shops in downtown St. Pete.
  10. Window Shop: Yes, Tampa Bay is known for great outdoor shopping districts, consider Hyde Park in Tampa, Main Street in Dunedin, or The Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel.
