To Dos Tampa Bay Water Activities

-6 Summer Day To-Dos for Tampa Bay –

The local communities of Tampa Bay have reached the peak of summer’s rainy season, which means some of us may feel there are limited things to do.  Rain or shine, however, there is plenty to do on any given summer day around Tampa Bay. Our Florida real estate team is listing ideas for summer fun and to-dos around Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay Events and Fun Ideas for Rain or Shine

  1. Wonderfully, a day of professional baseball could be at the top of your to-do list. Our Tampa Bay Rays will host the Cleveland Guardians at 1:10 p.m. on July 30 and the Toronto Blue Jays at 12:10 p.m. on Aug. 3 at the dome-covered Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The dome provides shelter from light drizzles, but a rainout or delay could occur during a strong storm. See the Rays’ schedule for official dates and times to fit your calendar.
  2. Next up, shopping. There are no shortages of shopping options across Tampa Bay, from the luxury stores at International Plaza near Tampa International Airport over to Clearwater’s Countryside Mall featuring a full-size, indoor ice-skating rink. You may also spend a day at The Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel, an open-air shopping center with everything you could possibly want.
  3. Of course, we would be remiss if we didn’t list a day at the beach. Yes, even during the summer rainy season, there is nothing better than a day in the coastal communities of Clearwater, St. Pete, John’s Pass, Dunedin, or Tarpon Springs. They all feature great indoor dining for a seafood lunch and quaint shops to browse during an afternoon shower.
  4. Also, our metropolitan areas can be enjoyed in any type of weather. Take a tour of downtown Tampa’s Art Museum located along the Hillsborough River. Be sure to also check out the Florida Aquarium or the Tampa History Museum in the Channelside District. While you are in the area, take the trolley or the water taxi to visit the nearby restaurants, shops, cafes, and theatres.
  5. If the weather is calm and there is absolutely no thunder or lightening – why not enjoy splashing around with a water activity? A light sprinkle can’t ruin a day of boating, fishing, swimming, jet skiing, paddle boarding, or simply strolling along one of our beautiful shorelines. Water activities are all great summer ways to enjoy Tampa’s lakes, rivers, causeways, and the Gulf of Mexico.
  6. Rain or shine, adults can always enjoy some indoor fun at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino. Many adventure seekers also like to visit Busch Gardens Tampa Bay during the summer because the crowds are smaller, which means the lines are shorter. Central Florida theme parks also include Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Orlando.
