fall home décor, Florida Homes Change Pre-Holiday Tips

This week marks the beginning of autumn, and the surrounding Tampa Bay area is celebrating the season with numerous outdoor activities and sporting events.  If you’ve been cooped up inside all summer, it’s time to come out and enjoy autumn activities and action-packed sports.

Here’s a quick rundown of events we think are especially unique for our local area:

-Wanderlust Festival
The “world’s only mindful triathlon” arrives in Tampa on Sept. 25 with The Wanderlust 108 festival in Curtis Hixon Park (www.wanderlust.com/108-events/tampa-fl/). It’s basically a field day for grownups, offering activities for your mind, body, and soul.  Focused on community as opposed to a competition, this roaming festival delivers a healthy dose of fun whether you’re a twenty something or a senior. In addition to organic food and artsy booths, the day’s activities include a nonchalant 5k, for which they say you can run, walk, prance, or even skip your way through it.  Next, beginners and pros alike can enjoy 75 minutes of music-inspired yoga.  And finally, a 30-minute guided meditation will be offered for achieving total relaxation.

-Challenges & Tournaments
Advance registration is now open for the 2016 Annual CABA Classic on Oct. 28 at Cheval Golf and Athletic Club (www.usecaba.com/2016-annual-caba-classic-golf-tournament). Now through Oct. 5 you’ll find significantly discounted“Early Bird” sign-up costs for networking, play, and sponsorships.  The Carrollwood Area Business Association proudly hosts this golf tournament to benefit Operation Helping Hand, a nonprofit providing assistance and support for the families of wounded and injured active-duty military. Operation Helping Hand is an organization that is near and dear to our hearts (www.operationhelpinghandtampa.com/).

There will also be numerous fitness challenges spanning across the area this weekend.  The 2016 TNL Fitness Challenge will be held Sept. 23 at the Tampa Convention Center, where 2-person teams in many divisions, from beginners to Cross Fit masters, can compete for $10,000 in cash and prizes.  Also, a Battle of the Bootcamps will be held on the morning of Sept. 24 in Hyde Park Village to raise money for the Special Olympics.  Tampa’s“sweat-professionals” and trainers are teaming up to lead people of all fitness levels through an hour-long session. Check local event listings for official details on tournaments across our region.

-Networking & Spectator Sports
If networking and spectator sports are more your speed, there are plenty of options.  The Buccaneer’s second-annual Women of Red Invasion will be held the evening of Sept. 21 at Raymond James Stadium (www.buccaneers.com/REDInvasion/index.html).  Ticket purchase includes beer samples along with a panel discussion with Buccaneer legends Ronde Barber and John Lynch, a NFL Rookie Experience with Bucs’ Director of Player Development, Duke Preston, as well as behind-the-scenes information on NFL Combine and the Draft War Room.

The University of South Florida will battle Florida State University at Raymond James Stadium at noon on Sept. 24 if you’d like to attend a local game, or you may simply enjoy watching any number of televised match-ups at home.  We’ve helped many Florida residents find and buy their dream home, so we understand if you’d love to stay home to enjoy football from the comforts of your couch this weekend.  If we can be of assistance in providing more information about local neighborhoods, home buying and home selling in the Tampa area and beyond, please don’t hesitate to call us at813-294-5786.
