Featured Festivities around Tampa Bay
The Greater Tampa Bay Area has been heating up with fantastic spring activities, and the fun won’t stop anytime soon. Flowers have bloomed, baseball season has started, and spring has sprung with events and festivals throughout are area. We’ve compiled a small sampling of our area’s must-attend events slated for May.
May 2018 Festivals & Events
- Operation Helping Hand Monthly Dinner (May 17): With Memorial Day approaching, the month of May is a wonderful time to celebrate our military. There are plenty of ways to help your local military and veterans. For example, Operation Helping Hand hosts a monthly dinner on the third Thursday of every month at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. - Downtown Saturday Morning Market (Saturdays through May 26): Catch the final weekends of this relaxing fresh market on Saturday mornings through May 26 at Al Lang Stadium’s parking lot in downtown St. Petersburg. - Tampa Bay Margarita Festival (May 26-27): Tampa will be celebrating that tasty concoction in Curtis Hixon Park at the annual Margarita Festival. - Bay Pines VA Memorial Day Ceremony (May 28): An annual Memorial Day Ceremony is held at C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center and National Cemetery at Bay Pines in St. Petersburg. In past years, local dignitaries and celebrities have joined the community in this ceremony including a firing salute and taps performance.
