Home for the Holidays in Tampa Bay 2020

-Home for the Holidays in Tampa Bay 2020-

Whether you are celebrating Hanukkah, Christmas, or New Year’s Eve this year, there is a good chance you will be in the comforts of your Tampa Bay home.  Yes, the events of 2020 have brought us back to the tradition of being home for the holidays.

As your trusted real estate experts, we spend a great deal of time talking with customers about their ideas of a perfect home.  Comfort and happiness are often two driving factors when customers are selling, buying, and moving into a new home.  Consider making comfort and happiness your inspiration for creating a happy holiday setting at your home.

4 Fantastic Ways to Bring Home the Holiday Spirit

  1. Seasonal Scents: In addition to lighting seasonally scented candles, many realtors will bake cookies during an open house, which fills the space with a deliciously familiar and comforting aroma.  Use this logic to ignite the holiday spirit while you are home for the holidays.  This is the year to bake the Christmas cookies your mom always made, try cooking your first turkey, or get the recipes to make your family’s traditional dishes.  You may not get to see your relatives in person this year, but the baked scent of their special recipes could help fill your home with their spirit.
  2. Sweet Gifts: There is a drastic shift to online shopping this holiday season. This means many items could be difficult to find or delayed for shipping.  Solve this issue while boosting your holiday happiness by creating homemade gifts, such as knitted blankets, embroidered pillows, painted glassware, or other personalized items.   Family, friends, and neighbors would also love a tray full of those cookies you have been baking. Simply place your homemade baked goods or chocolates in a specialty tin or a decorated container for the recipient. Keep it low budget by decorating an empty foil or plastic wrap box with colorful wrapping paper and neatly packing it with a row of holiday cookies.
  3. Deck the Halls: Without a doubt, holiday décor is the best way to fire up those warm and fuzzy feelings. You don’t have to go to the extremes of Clark Griswold, but it is nice to add a bit of sparkle.  Do what makes you happy – whether a grandiose display of family ornaments, or a simple string of white lights and garland across your mantle. If you will not be able to see loved ones this season, then consider checking the attic and closets for any long-forgotten ornaments that you may have not put out in recent years.  That dusty snowman or rusty star could be just what you need to light your spirit.
  4. Sights and Sounds: In addition to streaming your favorite holiday music, search for your favorite Christmas movies.  Kick back and enjoy the feel-good, stress-relieving antidotes of Elf and A Christmas Story, or classics like White Christmas and It’s a Wonderful Life.  With fewer parties, you may find yourself with more time to enjoy these movies more fully from beginning to end this year.  Plus, each movie’s heartfelt message might seem particularly poignant considering the events of this past year.

Whether you’ve recently moved, or you have been living in the same house for many years – we hope you enjoy your home for the holidays.  We would also be happy to assist you with finding your dream home for the New Year.
