Honoring Veterans and Active Duty Military

Also, while Memorial Day is a wonderful time to celebrate veterans, there are other opportunities to honor service members throughout the entire year. Check with non-profits and local listings for ways to help local military and veterans.

For example, Operation Helping Hand hosts a monthly dinner at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital on the third Thursday of each month.  Operation Helping Hand is a nonprofit providing support for the families of wounded and injured active-duty military.
