5 Florida Home Styles for Seniors

-5 Florida Home Styles for Seniors-

In celebration of Senior Citizens Day, our Tampa Bay real estate team is discussing some of our favorite Florida home styles for seniors. From 55+ communities to single-story pool homes, Florida is a fantastic setting for seniors, retirees, empty nesters, and snowbirds.

The way we see it, every day can be a celebration for seniors living in a place they love. You might want to live in a Mediterranean-style home close to the water, or perhaps you have always wanted to reside in a high-rise condo amid the action of a vibrant city.  Here are our favorite home styles for seniors and retirees living in the Tampa Bay area.

  1. Coastal Homes, Condos, and Beach Houses:

In Florida, there is no shortage of coastal homes and condos along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico.  Many of us have dreamed of living in a seaside home. The Tampa Bay area, particularly, has countless options. Home styles include Clearwater condos with elevators, Dunedin villas, St. Pete Beach houses, and many other homes with a coastal vibe.

  2. Lakefront Communities and Homes with Water Views

Notably, seniors do not have to live in a Pinellas beachfront community to enjoy amazing water views.  Ranch-style homes, pool homes, cool condominiums, luxury townhouses, and high-rise apartments can also be found along our bays, rivers, lakes, and ponds across Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties. Simply let our real estate team know you want a waterfront home, and we will find a way for you to wake up in a room with a view.

  3. Metro Areas and Downtown ApartmentsFor sociable seniors, there are energetic settings and districts featuring arts and culture. Best of all, metro regions of Tampa Bay include home styles like duplexes, townhouses, condominiums, high-rise apartments, and more.  Imagine living in an Art Deco building situated in the heart of South Tampa, or perhaps a downtown St. Pete apartment in walking distance to museums, dining, shopping, and entertainment.
  4. Active-Living Communities, Recreation, and Amenities

As a haven for retirees, there are active-living communities with recreational facilities all around the state of Florida.  Across Tampa Bay, you will find communities with countless amenities and facilities like swimming pools, fitness centers, dance halls, craft rooms, golf courses, tennis courts, pickleball courts, ponds for fishing, and more. We’d be happy to help you find a community with a list of amenities to match your lifestyle.

  5. Florida 55+ Communities, HOAs, and Supportive Services

Depending on your budget and preferences, our real estate team can fine-tune a home search for a more comfortable retirement with supportive services and a low-maintenance setting. For example, many Florida 55+ communities have Homeowners Associations (HOA) to handle all your exterior maintenance and lawn care needs. Some offer seniors communal dining and ride-sharing services for shopping and appointments. Senior citizens can find anything they need.
