3 Pre-Holiday Tips for Tampa Homeowners

-3 Pre-Holiday Tips for Tampa Homeowners-

November ushers in the holiday season across the Tampa Bay area.  While some homeowners might be filled with excitement this fall, others may need a pep talk before this year’s hustle and bustle. With decades of local experience in surviving and thriving during the holiday season, we have a few pre-holiday tips for homeowners to make the most of the 2021 holidays.

  • Fill Your Tampa Bay Home with Holiday Joy.

Okay, our Florida trees might have green leaves, and the air conditioning may be running, but you can still bring holiday joy to your Tampa Bay home.  One of the best ways to enjoy the holidays is to liven up your home with seasonal décor.  Right now, you could be welcoming in Autumn colors, earth tones, pumpkins, and accents in anticipation of Thanksgiving.  A change in décor could ignite warm and fuzzy feelings of special holiday memories. Of course, December will also be prime time for adding sparkle and mood-boosting holiday décor. Add a few new home accents, twinkling lights, or seasonal scents to rev up those holiday endorphins this year.

  • Get Your Home Organized and Start Giving.

Right now, before all of the parties and dinners, is the time to get your home organized for the season. Having rooms cleaned and closets decluttered will ensure you and your holiday guests have room to relax. Best of all, the decluttering process could leave you with wonderful donations for local charities and non-profits. Don’t just limit yourself to donating furniture and clothing items. Now is an important time to donate to food pantries, such as Feeding Tampa Bay and The Community Food Pantry in Carrollwood. Clearing out those kitchen cabinets and donating goods will make room in your pantry, conveniently, for holiday cooking supplies.

  • Allow Yourself to be Sentimental this Season.

Sentimentality and the holidays go together like whip cream and pumpkin pie. This is your chance to show your family, friends, neighbors, and others how much you care about them. If you start planning now, you could allot yourself time to create affordable homemade gifts, such as knitted blankets, painted glassware, personalized items, or baked goods. If you will not be able to see loved ones this season, then consider checking the attic for ornaments or photos that remind you of them. Set out the items around your home or frame the photos to keep them close in spirit while you celebrate the holiday season.
